Dawlish
Dawlish is a fascinating Regency resort town nestled attractively between steep surrounding hills with the railway sweeping along the entire seafront. Character cottages, impressive villas, Regency and early Victorian architecture which has inspired authors to put pen paper. The narrow streets, bustling shops, famous Black Swans, the brook that gurgles merrily through the Pleasure Gardens and of course the welcoming tea rooms offering the traditional scrumptious Devon Cream Tea. Dawlish Museum is a real gem and something not to be missed, or if you are more creative the Shaftesbury Theatre may be of interest. With walks along seafront or in the surrounding hills this is just a taste of what Dawlish has to offer.
Dawlish Warren
Dawlish Warren maintains its reputation as one of South Devon’s favourite family holiday destinations. Not only does it offer all the facilities of a holiday resort with its long sandy award winning beach but the 500 acre Warren nature reserve is a key part of the Exe Estuary and an area of international importance for wildlife. As well being highly valued by visitors and residents for it range of amenities the Warren is regularly used by educational groups.
Dawlish Beaches
Dawlish Warren prides itself on being one of South Devon’s top family beaches. Distinctive sand dunes and internationally recognised nature reserve add uniqueness to this nine times European Blue Flag award winning beach.
Dawlish Town Beach
A short walk from the town centre Dawlish Town Beach is ideal to escape the hustle bustle of the town, take a boat trip around the bay and maybe catch a mackerel for your tea.
Coryton Cove
Formerly known as Gentleman’s Cove, this beach is truly one of South Devon’s secluded little treasures. Brightly coloured beach huts, rock pools to explore and a truly delightful sandy beach.

Cockwood
The village of Cockwood lies to the north of Dawlish Warren. The picturesque village climbs above the harbour, offering views over the Exe estuary. There are several fine inns and restaurants offering light refreshments and meals. Running inland from Cockwood is another area of wetland.
