Town Regeneration
A study will be undertaken to consider the potential for the regeneration of the town centre and the wider parish, the potential benefits to residents and businesses of linking the satellite communities of Cockwood, Cofton, Dawlish Warren and Holcombe, including improved communication links and identifying opportunities for revitalizing the economy. It will investigate the feasibility of and the opportunities offered by the regeneration of sites within the Town Centre of Dawlish and the wider parish. To include other potential regeneration sites identified within the parish by this study and other sites which are not currently identified but would benefit the regeneration of the town. LHC Limited, Urban Design, from Exeter was awarded the contract to conduct a regeneration study for Dawlish town centre and the wider parish by Members of the Dawlish Regeneration Project Management Group. Work will commence at the beginning of April 2009 and will complement work already undertaken by the Market and Coastal Towns Initiative and when regeneration projects are identified, funding streams will also be sought to enable projects to be brought to conclusion.
