Elections to fill 16 vacancies on Dawlish Town Council and 5 vacancies for Teignbridge District Councillors representing Dawlish will take place from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, 2 May 2019.

Dawlish Town Council

The Town Council consists of three Wards, electing 16 councillors as follows:

•Dawlish North East Ward – 9 councillors
South West Ward – 6 councillors
•Dawlish Teignmouth Road Ward – 1 councillor

Teignbridge District Council

The District Council representation for Dawlish consists of two Wards, as follows:

North East – 3 councillors
South West – 2 councillors

Election Information

Look out for your poll card which will be posted out by Teignbridge on Monday, 25 March. This will confirm the areas you will be voting in and where your polling station will be located. If you are not already registered to vote, you have until Friday, 12 April to do so. You can either register online at or contact the Elections Team at Teignbridge District Council on 01626 215104. You do not need to re-register.

What if I’m not able to get to the Polling Station?

If you are not able to attend your polling station in person, you have until 5 p.m. on Monday, 15 April to apply for a postal vote. If you would like someone else to vote on your behalf, you have until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, 24 April to apply for a proxy vote. Note, if you already have a postal vote in place and wish to have someone else vote on your behalf, you must change this by 5 p.m. on Monday, 15 April. The counting of votes will take place on Friday, 3 May at Newton Abbot Racecourse. As information becomes available, the Town Council’s website will be updated and notices of those elected shall be distributed via various means.
